The Magnetix™ Ball Joint is a “ball and socket” joint that allows mounted panels to swivel independently about its center of gravity. The joint is made of neodymium magnets.
The joint consists of 2 parts: a magnetic socket is attached to the base of the panel, and a threaded ball attached magnetically to the socket. The threaded ball then receives an M6 threaded rod that is secured to a wall or ceiling.

Magnetix™ is a ball-and-socket joint system that uses neodymium magnets and a threaded rod to create a magnetic connection between architectural panels and their mounting points. It allows panels to swivel independently around their center of gravity, enabling flexible alignment and adaptive placement on walls or ceilings.
The Magnetix™ system consists of a magnetic receiver, a chrome-plated steel ball, a threaded rod, and neodymium magnets (grade N35). The magnetic socket attaches to the panel base, and the threaded ball connects magnetically to the socket before being secured to the support structure.
The magnetic receiver measures approximately 50 mm by 50 mm by 9 mm, and the chrome ball has a 25 mm diameter. The system uses an M6 threaded rod and provides a magnetic pull force of about 4 kg, offering secure yet adjustable panel mounting.
Magnetix™ simplifies installation and alignment of acoustic panels, decorative panels, or modular surfaces, allowing them to pivot slightly after mounting for perfect orientation. This magnetic joint is especially useful when precise panel placement is needed in parametric design or complex architectural layouts.
Magnetix™ was designed by Elijah Yang and is part of the AntiCAD™ suite of parametric and computational design products. AntiCAD™ is a Singapore-based design and fabrication company known for innovative architectural components that integrate digital processes into real-world applications.
